People in India are interested in a variety of activities while holidaying. Some go for river rafting, trekking, mountaineering, cycling in the hills and also fishing. I have a passion for fishing. Whenever I visit places, my first question that I normally ask the locals is where can I go fishing, as it is not permitted in all areas.

Once in the summer months my family and me had gone on a trip to Pahalgam in Kashmir. The Lidder River that flows through Pahalgam is very famous for fishing. We hired a few fishing rods and along with fishing tackle to lure them towards the rod. Once we went near the water, we put the rods deep into the water and waited with bated breath to catch hold of our prize catch.

All of a sudden I felt something heavy and raised the rod to see my catch of a trout fish. I was very excited because after many days I had gone for fishing and enjoyed it a lot. Fishing in India is still done mostly by fishermen who along with their nets go into the deep seas to catch fish, prawns and other seafood for their livelihood.
